The business-oriented social network LinkedIn launched a new plugin that allows companies to place an “Apply with LinkedIn” button on their job listings pages. The plugin allows job hunters to apply for positions using their LinkedIn profiles as resumés.
The button is much like the Twitter tweet button or the Facebook Like button in that companies can embed it on their website. The button essentially lets you submit your LinkedIn profile as your resume — no cover letter necessary. Once you submit your job application, you are given the opportunity to message your contacts at the company and ask for a referral.
